Day Trips
Jer finds the solution to our one
too few bike problem! Mark, Jer and I had drove down to Farmer's Market
to pick up a few of the things we had forgotten - beer, wine, sugar, beer
and tomatoes. (We also got some beer.) While waiting for the
beer store to open we walked around looking for things to do (not much other
than bug the cows) and drinking slushies (at 9 in the morning).
Ah - Magic Lake. We cycled
down here for lunch and a bit of a swim. What a glorious color of green!
The lake had drifts of duck algae growing on top, and had a green cast through
even the smallest amount of water.
To go in - or not, that is the Question.
David half answered it - half way in.
With water composing 73.8% of my body, I was
only too happy to rejoin it. I still wonder what I got covered in though!
And in lane 4 is fishface, followed
closely by magic swimmer! Once we'd had enough of swimming it was a
quick swim back to the dock.

melons.
On Sunday we took
a cycle ride to the other (South Pender) island and cycled down to Bedwell
Harbour, a kind of a resort perched over the government docks. The
store their was having a end of summer sale (tourist season ended that weekend),
so we got some paté cheap, and had crackers and cheese for lunch.
